Advertisement Landing Page

Landing Page

A landing page is the first page that visitors are driven to when they click on a link or an advertisement. The advertisement is usually designed as a call to action. For example, it might be to encourage the visitor to buy a product.

Advertisements

The landing pages of products sold in Mauritius were identified by clicking on advertisements appearing on web sites. One of the advertisements drove the visitor to an error page as the landing page did not exist. There was an advertisement which drove the visitor to a Facebook page. Two of the advertisements from well-known companies brought the visitor to a landing page.

Madagascar and Reunion island

The landing pages for two advertisements, one in Madagascar and the other in Reunion island, were identified. Both of the advertisements drove the visitor to a landing page.

Conclusion

Although the advertisement sample is not adequate, it may provide a sense of how advertisers in Mauritius are using the web for marketing. It looks like there is a gap between how the web is used for advertising in Mauritius and how it is used outside Mauritius. Are advertisers in Mauritius translating a paper-based version of their advertisement to the web? That would point to an ineffective digital communication strategy.
