Submission of privacy complaint

Data Protection Office

The Data Protection Office for Mauritius aims at protecting privacy rights of individuals. In 2010, an "investigation unit" was created to process complaints received by the Data Protection Office. An online form is available for submitting a privacy complaint.

govmu.org

The user is required to register on eforms.govmu.org to be able to submit the complaint. The URL for "Register Here" links to http://www.gov.mu/portal/site/citizenhomepage/template.MAXIMIZE/menuitem.2393425ed92cceb10927d523f6b521ca/. It is surprising that there are still a link to "www.gov.mu" as that domain name is no longer used by the Government of Mauritius since December 2014

Conclusion

It is highly improbable that the online form is used for submitting privacy complaints to the Data Protection Office.
